Secondary Teachers’ Perceptions of the Impact of Professional Development on Writing
Doctoral Dissertation, Touro University of California, 2025
This dissertation sits at the intersection of two questions: what does good writing instruction actually look like, and how do we deliver professional development that sticks? Centering the voices of secondary teachers themselves, the research explores how educators perceive the impact of professional development on their writing instruction practice — and what that tells us about what works, what doesn't, and why teacher voice must be at the heart of any serious conversation about professional growth.
